First Non-Classical Concert
Quite possibly the first non-classical concert I played ever… I was only fourteen at the time. My brothers busked to make some side money and I was not allowed to tag along. I was too young, too annoying… One day I asked, no demanded -as only youngest brothers can- to play along… They said ok, prove you are worthy. They tried to derail me by playing everything super, super fast. But I knew all the songs by heart.. I didn’t care about the tempo. I wanted to play with my brothers… And I did.
Later we won a few busker competitions all over Antwerp. Ronny went on to make strange alternative music with Sven and above all amazing art, Karen got her masters degree classical guitar at the conservatory of Antwerp. They both stopped playing music after a while at least professionally. Sven is still a professional player but we went our separate ways.
