Biography

Le Trio Perdu has known many iterations with many different very talented musicians.  They played all over Europe & the UK. Their unique style comes from their lead vocalist and violinist Kevin Van Staeyen, who always knows how to engage his audience with weird little stories and anecdotes. The previous iteration with Chris Mentens   (check out his website, he has an amazing solo album) and Jokke Schreurs ended during the Covid pandemic. Tough times for all of us, but even more so for musicians. The music scene still has not completely recovered. Le Trio Perdu was placed in cryo-sleep until it was resuscitated for a concert early 2025.

Kevin called Ruben as there was no budget for a trio. They had no time for a rehearsal so the entire concert was improvised and it was truly magical. Jazz in its purest form.

Not long after that Eva Put called Kevin for her new project Bourbon Ballads Affair. Kevin suggested she should use Ruben as her bass player. After a couple of concerts the LTP itch got the upper-hand once more. The idea for a rebirth was born. Yes even a rebirth can be born or rebirthed ask anyone who knows! Le Trio Perdu rose from the ashes. Le Trio Perdu Duo was the name.
